This conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of the Technical Guidance Documents, and give a practical review of TGD’s in relation to each part of the Building Regulations. Throughout the day we will discuss every part of the technical guidance documents from Part A to Part M, from fire safety, ventilation, energy efficiency, sound and more. We will note important changes over the last few years and the key issues that commonly cause problems or compliance challenges.
There will be a full line up of expert speakers on the these topics covering all practical and legal elements, using case studies and real life examples to help you fully understand all key areas.

He is a corporate member of Engineers Ireland and the Institute of Acoustics with over thirty years’ experience in the field of acoustics; he has been a consultant since 1989. Chris was a member of the Working Group that assisted with the redrafting of the 2014 Building Regulations update relating to Sound, as well as the associated Technical Guidance Document. He is the lead author of technical documents published by, inter alia, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (formerly the NRA) and the Environmental Protection Agency. He is a founder member of the Sound Insulation Testing Register Ireland (SITRI) and has lectured at TCD, UCD, NUI Galway and NUI Maynooth.

He has lectured in construction technology and fire safety design in DIT and has presented fire safety and fire safe construction presentations to the Irish Regions of the Institution of Fire Engineers and Chartered Association of Building Engineers. He is a visiting lecturer to the PG Professional Diploma (Architecture Course) in UCD & is a lecturer on the fire safety module of the SCSI Higher Cert. in Quantity Surveying Course in DIT.
He is currently working as an Assigned Certifier on a number of large scale commercial and residential developments.
Cormac Bradley

A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Cormac has spent a large part of his career in South Africa working on a wide variety of projects including dams, bridges, roads, wastewater treatment works, gold, coal and diamond mines and a collapsed railway tunnel.
Read moreHe returned to Ireland in 2001 to a position in Galway but relocated to Dun Laoghaire in 2005 and shortly thereafter joined RPS as a Construction Manager in the Dun Laoghaire office concentrating on landfill projects in their Waste & Energy Section. Currently, he is working on the Dublin Airport Fuel Farm redevelopment project and has current Assigned Certifier roles on pharmaceutical, social accommodation and commercial projects and has completed a small hospital building project in the same capacity.
He represented Engineers Ireland (with others) in the original BC(A)R consultation process and was their sole representative on the working group that originally developed the suite of Ancillary Certificates and the associated Practice Notes that have followed that exercise.

William works as an environmental and sustainable design engineer for IN2 Engineering.
