Frank Power works with the Health and Safety Authority in Ireland as an Ergonomist (Inspector).
Read moreSince joining the Authority he has been involved in addressing Ergonomic and Manual Handling issues at a strategic and workplace level and has acted as an Expert Witness in the Courts.
His main areas of work include the development of regulations and guidance, completion of regulatory inspections, representing the HSA on NSAI, EU and National Disability Authority work groups. He developed the Manual Handling and People Handling Training Framework in co-operation with the QQI and the HSA Manual Handling Training Advisory Group.
His main area of work at the present time relates to Ergonomics Risk Management.

Ita Leyden is a chartered engineer, ergonomist and a chartered member of the professional body for health and safety, the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) with over 25 years’ experience in the ergonomics, engineering, training and safety fields. She was one of the first in Ireland to qualify with a M.Sc. in Ergonomics, Health, Safety and Hygiene from University College Galway.
Ita’s work experience spans a variety of roles in engineering and health and safety, including at senior management in the pharmaceutical industry. Ita provides expertise to a variety of industry and service sectors, from retail, transport and manufacturing to construction. Consequently, Ita is involved in all areas of safety, from ergonomic design and assessment, provision of expert witness testimony through to process safety and training, implementation of behavioural based safety programmes and development of safety management systems.
Ita is a part time lecturer of ergonomics in University College Dublin (UCD).
