He is the head of Employment Litigation and practices in Commercial, Regulatory and Private Client Litigation.

Maurice has significant expertise in litigation having practiced as a barrister and litigation solicitor. As a former barrister he has particularly acute judgement in litigation strategy, which is client centred. He has particular expertise in Expert Witness Evidence and Quasi Judicial Tribunals, having delivered courses and seminars in the area for over 20 years. He has written and delivered courses/seminars for members of the Labour Court, Equality Tribunal, Rights Commissioners, Network of Corporate Directors in Non Commercial State Agencies and Expert Witnesses generally. He is an excellent communicator and gives clear advice in plain English.

Maurice is a fluent German speaker and has represented German and Austrian clients in Ireland.

Having prosecuted on behalf of the Workplace Relations Commission he is well versed in the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 and related Employment legislation. He advises on Employment Law generally, from the perspective of employers and high level employees. He has a particular interest Grievance and Disciplinary procedures and in Stress, Bullying and Mental Health issues in the workplace. Maurice also advises on drafting employment contracts, human resources policies and employer/workplace handbooks.

As a former Chairperson of the Private Security Authority he understands the legal and governance needs of Regulators and those of the various stakeholders involved. Maurice sat on the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal and therefore understands what decision makers need to make a positive decision.

He advises on Commercial (including debt collection), Corporate, Share Purchase Agreement, Injunction and Private Client Litigation. During his career he has appeared before all Courts and is a well-known and respected practitioner.
