CMG Professional Training are hosting a one day MEDICAL SECRETARY refresher course which will ensure you are working to ‘best practice’ standards and renew your confidence in dealing with patients and colleagues alike.

If you plan and coordinate a clinical or staff diary, manage a busy reception, schedule appointments, manage fees and invoices, and of course deal with patients and relatives, you’ll need a broad range of skills and the ability to manage your time and resources effectively. Perhaps you are new to your role or you feel your role has grown over the last few years; perhaps you feel patients’ expectations have risen and resources have been reduced.


Medical secretaries and administration staff are often the first impression from the patient’s perspective, and make a vital contribution to the patient experience. The role is one of surprising responsibility – can be both challenging and exciting.

This one day course is a great way to update your industry skills and add to your Continuing Professional Development. It may also help when going forward for promotion or higher paid role.

Having worked in both Australia and London in a wide variety of business’s Lynette has developed experience in both training and management.

Working initially as a state tutor and advisor for a large international skincare company in Melbourne and then moving into management in both health & fitness and an international advertising agency in London. Lynette began her journey into the healthcare environment working for a growing practice in Devon where she started as a medical receptionist and worked her way up, training staff and holding workshops.

Lynette has been working as Practice Development Manager at The Palms GP Surgery since 2008 training and helping managers new to the role.

Training Environment:

CMG Professional Training courses take place at our state-of-the-art training facility in the Apex Building situated in the Beacon Quarter of Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18. The CMG Training Centre is accessible by the Luas, (Sandyford line, Stillorgan stop – 6 mins walk) several bus options (the number 11 travels from O Connell street Dublin and stops directly outside the training centre) and we are situated very close to the M50 at the Beacon Hospital corner. There are several car parks within a three minute walk from the training centre with very competitive ‘all day’ parking rates and we have a range of coffee shops (including Starbucks) as well as shops and restaurants nearby.

Course Cost:

This course costs €300.00 per person (Early Bird Rate) and includes course documentation and light refreshments. While the course fee does not include lunch, we do provide freshly made sandwiches, nespresso coffee and a range of teas and fresh juice for those who require a light lunch. Alternatively you can avail of the local food stores and coffee shops opposite the training centre for hot food or alternative lunch options.
