Deirdre has represented the sector’s shared interests on many fora over the years and has just been appointed, by the Charity Regulator as a member of the Advisory Group for a new Governance Code for Charities. In recent years she was also appointed to: the Charity Regulator’s consultative panel on the ‘Regulation of Fundraising’ (2016) and the Working Group on ‘Citizen Engagement in Local Government’ (2013/2014). She is a regular public speaker on the topics of corporate governance and best practice in the non-profit sector, the potential and value of the charities-sector, and citizens engagement in public decision-making.

Lauren is currently completing a PhD on the Irish Protected Disclosures Act 2014 at Middlesex University.  She has published articles and book chapters on protected disclosures and co-authored the Annotated Statute on the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 with Associate Professor Anthony Kerr SC, published by Round Hall. She has also produced two country reports on protected disclosures and spoken on this topic at various conferences, Continuous Professional Development events, round-table panel discussions, and legislative briefings at both national and international level. Lauren was awarded the governmental project for the drafting of the protected disclosures procedures guidance for public bodies on behalf of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform. Lauren is the founder of the Irish Whistleblowing Law Society, a former Board Director of the Transparency Legal Advice Centre (TLAC) and an associate with Transparency International Ireland’s Integrity at Work programme, which provides training to organisations on protected disclosures.
