Angela Madden

Managing Director, Rits Information Security

Angela Madden is the Managing Director of Rits and along with providing consulting services herself, is responsible for the delivery and quality assurance of all Rits’ consulting assignments. She holds a BSc in Information Systems from Trinity College Dublin, a Diploma in Ecommerce Law from the Law Society and an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection Law from Kings Inns, Dublin. She is also a Certified EU GDPR Practitioner and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Angela has been providing Data Protection consulting services to Rits’ clients since joining Rits in 2000, developing these services as the Data Protection legislation evolved along with the introduction of the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in 2018. Angela is also a Payment Card Industry (PCI) expert, assisting our clients with achieving and maintaining PCI certification since its establishment in 2006. She has established and headed up Information Security Departments and functions within various sectors including financial, retail and manufacturing over the last number of years. This has included the development and implementation of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) in accordance with best practice ISO 27001/2 and NIST standards and associated governance and assurance policies and processes. Angela is a regular contributor to the Information Security Community in Ireland going back to the 1990s when she co-founded the Irish Chapter of ISACA (Information Systems and Control Association) in 1996, for which she is still an active member. She continues to write regular articles for the national press, chairs and presents at Information Security and DPA conferences and provides general and practical cyber and information security advice to schools and parents.
