Ciara Hanratty is a Senior Associate in the Healthcare team of Carson McDowell’s Dublin office. Prior to joining Carson McDowell, Ciara spent over 9 years working with a leading Dublin law firm in the Public and Regulatory Law Department. Ciara specialised in advising healthcare regulators on their powers and functions as well as preparing professional disciplinary matters for hearing before Committees of Inquiry. Ciara graduated from University College Dublin with a BCL degree in 2003. Ciara was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in the Republic of Ireland in 2008 and to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2010. Following qualification, Ciara worked in a general practice in Dublin, predominantly practising in the area of personal injuries law as well as acting on behalf of members of an association before their statutory body. Ciara also gained experience in the areas of judicial review, medical negligence, Commissions of Investigation and the Coroner’s Court. In 2012, Ciara completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Intervention from the Law Society in conjunction with the Edward M Kennedy Institute, Maynooth University. Ciara is a regular lecturer for the Law Society of Ireland on its Healthcare and Regulatory Law Diplomas and Certificates.
