Jim O’Brien was formerly Group Technical Advisor in an international building materials group, his academic and professional qualifications including BE, MEngSc, CEng, FIEI, FIAE, FIET (UK), LifeSenMemIEEE (USA). In his retirement, amongst other activities, Jim has been actively involved in analyzing climate trends and energy policies. Motivated by the need for disseminating much-needed objectivity in these fields, he inspired the founding of the Irish Climate Science Forum (www.ICSF.ie) in 2016, and continues as its Chair. The mission of the ICSF is to better inform national climate and energy policy-making towards ensuring a truly sustainable future in the best national interest. The ICSF regularly runs lectures by the world’s top independent professionals on climate science and related topics, which may be viewed on https://www.icsf.ie/lecture-series. The ICSF now actively cooperates with like-minded climate realist groups across the world, including the international Climate Intelligence foundation, CLINTEL, https://clintel.org/. Jim was also an independent Expert Reviewer of the recent IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.
