I am the lead consultant and auditor at ProPrivacy where I work closely with (mostly) SaaS compliance and development teams identifying and remediating compliance gaps, developing and embedding data protection by design strategies into platforms, performing in-depth data protection impact assessments and providing data protection agreement support. I am proud to be part of a team that builds amazing specialist programmes and solutions to help you with data compliance - including data protection (GDPR and POPIA), privacy and cyber security. We share data protection, privacy rights and cyber security insights here through a few carefully curated posts as well as my ad hoc irreverent opinion. I am computer science (Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence Programming) and electronic and intellectual property law (LLB) qualified. I am also trained in constitutional (fundamental) rights litigation, so we might have an academic argument or two about data protection versus privacy. I have over twenty years of experience working in different sized organisations and sectors on operational, governance, risk management and compliance matters. I am an analytical and focused person that enjoys a challenge in the workplace. I love technology, systems and people and have a passion for showing people how technology can make life easier and better. I understand that the world is driven by data today but privacy is paramount. Responsibly developed AI excites me for the future.
