Rebecca is a practising barrister. She graduated from UCD School of Law in 1999, and was awarded a Master of Laws degree with Distinction from UCD in 2000. Rebecca was called to the Bar of New York and admitted to practice there in 2001. Rebecca graduated from the Honorable Society of King`s Inns with the Barrister at Law degree in 2004 and was called to the Bar of Ireland in the same year. Rebecca practises in general civil litigation, with particular emphasis in matters of medical and healthcare Law, pharmaceutical products and medical device litigation, professional negligence, and administrative law/judicial review having appeared on behalf of the State, and is regularly instructed to act on behalf of medical indemnifiers. She regularly appears before other tribunals, inquiries and before Coroner`s Inquests. Prior to her call to the Bar Rebecca worked for three years as a Legal Consultant and Researcher in the litigation department of a law firm, and has over thirteen years of litigation experience. Rebecca is an accredited Mediator having trained at the Program on Negotiation at the Harvard Negotiation Institute of Harvard Law School. She is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Whilst practising full-time Rebecca is also currently completing an MA in Mediation and Conflict Intervention at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for Conflict Intervention, NUI, Maynooth. Rebecca is a member of New York Bar Association and of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers.
